Sutton for Mayor launches campaign website
Beaufort City Councilman Mike Sutton today announced the launch of his mayoral campaign’s official website, http://www.suttonformayor.com.
“My campaign and my term as Beaufort’s next Mayor will be characterized by better communication with city voters,” Sutton said. “We’re out talking to people everyday, listening in our neighborhoods, and making sure that people understand who I am and what I will bring to Beaufort. Using the internet to familiarize people with my record and encourage interaction about my candidacy is just another way voters can make their voices heard.”
Sutton said that he is the first candidate in the field to use technology to promote dialog but doesn’t expect to be the last. “There’s no substitute for meeting people one-on-one,” Sutton added, “but my campaign is all about transparency. I’m an open book. People can look me up. And the web means my campaign will be open 24-7.”
Sutton described the website as the result of a collaboration between campaign volunteer Col. Stuart Wagner (USMC-Ret.) and Villagewerx, a New Jersey web development agency owned by his brother, Bob Sutton Jr.
“We handle a lot of campaign-related web work,” Bob Sutton said, “but it’s definitely easier when the candidate’s stature and message are so unmistakable. Beaufort is fortunate to have Mike in the race. And I’m fortunate to know him as a brother.”
